Plagiarism Detection (Turnitin's OriginalityCheck)

photo of hands on a laptopTurnitin’s OriginalityCheck, a plagiarism detection service, helps instructors check students' work for improper citation or potential plagiarism. The OriginalityCheck is fully integrated within the Dropbox tool in Pilot. When a student submits a paper to a Dropbox folder that has enabled the plagiarism detection, it automatically gets sent to Turnitin and a report is sent back to the faculty member in the Dropbox (typically within an hour of the submission).

In addition to the plagiarism detection, GradeMark, an online paper evaluation tool, can also be utilized in Turnitin via the Dropbox folder in Pilot. Turnitin’s GradeMark paperless grading saves faculty time and provides detailed feedback to students.

If you have questions about using Turnitin within a Pilot course, please contact the CTL at (937) 775-2885 or ctl@wright.edu. You can also view instructor help files and video tutorials at TurnItIn.com.

****Please note that you can use Turnitin outside of a Pilot course, but to do so requires a number of additional steps. For further information about using Turnitin outside of Pilot, please contact the CTL (937) 775-2885 or ctl@wright.edu.
