photo of provost amy thompsonDear Colleagues,

I want to thank you all for your participation and excitement during Raider Resilience Week and World Mental Health Day—I’ve finally warmed up from my dip in the dunk tank! While the events have concluded, mental health is still a top priority for my office and our university. The excellent work of the Mental Health Task Force continues, and we will continue to share all resources available and keep you apprised of initiatives.

Throughout the upcoming weeks, many more events are planned for our current and future students. We’re excited to host these stimulating educational and career-enhancing experiences. Your participation, when you are able, is appreciated.

Midterm Grades are Due Today

Midterm grade reporting is open through noon today. Midterm grade reporting is required by all undergraduate-level classes, with some exceptions. Detailed instructions for posting grades can be found on the Registrar’s webpage.

Faculty reporting grades in WINGS Express (and not via Pilot) only need to enter the midterm grade and can ignore the “Last Attend Date” and “Attend Hours” fields.

Faculty teaching graduate courses are encouraged to submit midterm grades but are not required to do so.

Grades of Incomplete (I) should only be issued at the end of a term if requested by a student for documented extenuating circumstances that prevented completion of the final part of the course.

For technical questions regarding reporting grades (such as reporting from Pilot), contact the CaTS Help Desk at 937-775-4827 or helpdesk@wright.edu.

For additional grading questions, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 937-775-5200 or wsu-registrar@wright.edu.

Raj Soin College of Business Dean Search

The search for the dean of the Raj Soin College of Business has been launched. Additional information, including the position description and members of the search committee, can be found on the executive search website.

Healthy Minds Survey

Remember to complete the Healthy Minds Study. It is important as we want to better understand faculty and staff mental health, well-being, sources of support, and other mental and emotional health topics.

The online, anonymous survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and is your chance to reflect on important topics in your life and our campus community.

To participate, look for the personalized link in the email you received on October 2 with the subject line “Announcing the Healthy Minds Study for Faculty and Staff at Wright State University.”

Participating in this survey will automatically enter you into a sweepstakes for one of two $500 prizes or one of ten $100 prizes. The drawing will be conducted by researchers at the University of Michigan School of Public Health in the summer of 2024. Winners will be notified by email and provided with information about how to collect the prize.

When a Student Needs Support

Wright.edu/help is a great resource for helping students or making referrals. This site contains contact information for emergency or essential departments that can assist your students all in one location.

I hope you all have a wonderful week! You are appreciated!
