These statements outline the management, protection, and sharing of institutional data in compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and data governance policies.

Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Data Disclosure Statement

As an educational entity in the state of Ohio, Wright State University collects and maintains student data to support its mission and operations. Sharing information about sexual orientation and/or gender identity is optional, and you may freely decline to provide that information if you choose. This statement explains what information is collected and how it will be used, shared, and maintained by the university.  

Students self-report data using the WINGS portal. Wright State University reports on this data in the following ways: 

  1. Gender Identity data is aggregated and reported externally as required by law.
  2. No personally identifying information will be given to external sources. 
  3. Aggregated data on sexual orientation and gender identity may be shared with university administrative departments, but will not include identifying information.

Wright State University does not discriminate illegally based on any legally protected trait or status in admissions, financial assistance, eligibility for official programs and opportunities, or in other aspects of campus or student life. If you have information relating to suspected illegal discrimination, please report it through the University’s EthicsPoint portal at http://www.wright.ethicspoint.com
