The Intellectual Origins of the American Revolution

In this seminar we will examine the major scholarly debates over the Revolution's intellectual roots and shows how eighteenth-century Americans drew from multiple political traditions to turn ideas into practice. Teachers will leave better equipped to teach the Founding as a dynamic conversation of ideas rather than a settled ideological formula.
