[OFFICIAL-L] University Exploring Plans to Combine Graduate School and Honors Program

To elevate awareness of our graduate and honors programs and strengthen recruiting, the Office of the Provost is exploring reorganizing two administrative units—The Graduate School and the University Honors Program—into a single unit: The College of Graduate and Honors Studies.

More than 22 percent of our current honors students continue into a graduate program at Wright State. Reorganization provides a unique opportunity to improve our pipeline programs and provide direct services to our honors and graduate students. The staff in the newly reorganized college will be supervised by a dean upon the successful completion of a national search planned for early 2023.

We know that our faculty and staff have a legitimate interest in the future of graduate and honors studies at Wright State and understand that they may wish to share their thoughts on this change.

We highly value your opinions and would like to hear from you. From October 7 to December 7, 2022, the Office of the Provost invites comment on the intent to reorganize these two units. Your participation will help the university assess the potential impact of the proposed College of Graduate and Honors Studies.

Please provide your comments via this Qualtrics survey.

The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.

More details on the proposed College of Graduate and Honors Studies will be shared in future communications and on the leadership section of the university website.
