[OFFICIAL-L] Greetings from Provost Amy Thompson

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I am thrilled to have officially started my role as provost last Wednesday and it’s great to begin my first full week on the job. I feel so fortunate to be part of the Wright State community and have been so warmly welcomed by everyone I have met.

These are exciting times for our campuses! We are preparing to welcome a new class of first-year students this fall, and new faculty orientation is right around the corner. Several of our colleges also have new deans.

I want you to know that your success is Wright State’s success. I am here to be a resource and supportive partner.

Since arriving on campus, I have made it a priority to visit the colleges and schools and learn as much as I can about Wright State and its wide portfolio of academic programs, student success initiatives, and innovative research. I look forward to meeting many of you and hearing about the great work you are doing in the classroom, laboratory, and community.

If you see me walking across campus, please take a moment and introduce yourself or feel free to let me know about events you may want me to attend to learn more about your academic programs or research.

I am excited to begin my work across the university and meet each of you and our students!

Best,

Amy Thompson, Ph.D.
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
