Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce a call for applications for the Provost’s Faculty Fellows program for 2023–2024 and to invite you to apply to participate in our inaugural cohort of Faculty Fellows. There will be two Provost’s Faculty Fellows in the first cohort.

Submissions are due by February 15, 2023, and must include:

The Provost’s Faculty Fellows program offers a unique faculty leadership development experience while the Fellow works on issues that help advance the university’s strategic goals and priorities. Working with the Provost’s Office, each Fellow will have the opportunity to coordinate a university-wide project and to engage with administrative and faculty leaders across the university.

Fellows will work closely with academic administrators who will provide mentoring and share their insights into higher education administration. Fellows’ projects will focus on strategies related to advancing Wright State’s educational mission and address issues related to the following areas:

  • Faculty Success
  • Student Success

Provost’s faculty fellowships will begin in August 2023 and continue to May 2024 with the opportunity to apply for a second year, contingent on progress toward agreed-upon goals/outcomes and the availability of funding.

Tasks for the 2023–2024 academic year will include refined project development and implementation of identified outcomes of the project, monthly meetings with the Provost’s Office staff, and collaboration with key faculty and staff across the university who are involved with their project.

Fellows will receive one course release for each semester during the academic year.

Faculty eligible for the Provost’s Faculty Fellows program include tenured full professors or associate professors and senior lecturers. Faculty who hold an administrative position are not eligible, with the exception of directors and department chairs (who are eligible to apply).

Provost’s Faculty Fellows may not take on overload teaching assignments during the academic year of their term as Fellows.

Candidates will be selected based on their contributions to the university, their demonstrated interest in one of the project areas identified above, demonstrated leadership qualities, and career aspirations. Selected Fellows will be notified by March 3, 2023, and will begin their fellowship in August.
