Civil Service Reform at Wright State University Legislative changes to civil service have created the framework for potential civil service changes at the university. A letter has been mailed to each classified employee from the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and the Chair of the Classified Staff Advisory Council (CSAC) informing classified employees of the new legislation and the possibility for future changes. Once the Board of Trustees has adopted the minimum guidelines required by the legislation, Wright State University can begin the process of exploring permissible changes to civil service. We understand that the prospect of change often brings a certain amount of anxiety. It is critical for you to know that the university continues to place the highest value on collaboration with our employees, and on their contributions to our overall success. It is essential that there be a partnership between the administration, CSAC, and the general campus community when exploring permissible changes to civil service. The Department of Human Resources has informed and will continue to involve and partner with CSAC in the process to reform classified civil service. University Staff Council (USC) was briefed initially on January 10, 2007 about the passage of HB 187 and potential for changes to civil service.
