Black Men on the Move: Raising Kings & Queens

Sunday, April 5, 2026, 6 pm to 8 pm
Rike 160

Rising Kings and Queens is an intentional gathering focused on allowing others to help uplift the next generation of young black children. We'd be going over the context of what that looks like, describing why this needs to be talked about, how these kids can be raised, and what should be avoided. We'd go over history and parenting techniques from a psychological perspective as well, hoping that, from a mental standpoint, others can relate and reflect on the information being shared. So points that would be touched on are systemic stressors, emotional intelligence, racial bias, hair, media literacy, and social pressures from parents. This presentation is designed to help uplift black families and future family planners at Wright State University.
