Deaf Studies

You can better understand people who are deaf or hard of hearing, including the culture, history, and language of American Sign Language (ASL), by adding a deaf studies minor to your major. Gain a cultural and linguistic understanding while looking at their lives from different perspectives. Become a friend, advocate, or ally and interact with people who are deaf or hard of hearing by using ASL. Our program helps prepare you for careers in education, business, human services, social work, health care, counseling, theater, and many others.
