Math Learning Center

Get the Math Help You Need

The Math Learning Center helps students become more skilled, confident, and independent learners of mathematics. We provide a welcoming and supportive environment that empowers students to engage in conversations that deepen their knowledge and understanding of mathematics.

The Center provides individualized student evaluation and instruction from a full-time director and a staff of two dozen student-employees who are knowledgeable of best tutoring practices. To coordinate appropriate student assistance, the Center collaborates with other departments and programs.

We look forward to your participation, and hope that the Math Learning Center becomes an integral part of your academic success. So, come early and often, as our services are free to Wright State students!

Be a Math Tutor

Math Learning Center (MLC) tutors provide individual and small group tutoring to students in first and second year math courses. They also assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to clarify mathematical learning problems and develop mathematical habits of mind. Other assistance might include: reviewing class material, discussing the text, predicting test questions, or working on solutions to problems. In general, the tutor will provide services that supplement classroom teaching.
