Poet Gary Pacernick helps participants to "Find the Poet Within."

At the first class meeting following introductions, participants will read poems they have written, or a poem written by others. There will be a discussion about poetry and poets, determining what constitutes a poem, and an opportunity to write in class.

At the second class meeting, participants will read and respond to poems by themselves and others. You may bring copies of your poems to read aloud or to allow others to read. There will be more discussion about the making of a poem and an opportunity for writing in class.

Gary Pacernick , a published author, taught Creative Writing and Poetry at Wright State for over forty years. He is married to Peggy Weller and has two daughters, Jennifer and Eden, and five grandchildren.
