The Outdoor Resource Center (ORC) is Campus Recreation's center for those in the WSU community who wish to get involved with outdoor excursions - ranging from hiking in the Grand Canyon to kayaking lessons. It is an excellent opportunity for patrons to explore the outdoors, stay in shape, meet new people, try new things, and visit new places!
The ORC is located in room 037 on the bottom level of the Student Union.

Get inspired to Get Out and Live at The Adventure Summit presented by Wagner Subaru February 9-10, 2018!
As a joint production of Five Rivers MetroParks and Wright State University, The Adventure Summit is an event celebrating the spirit of outdoor adventure by showcasing the vibrant lifestyle and culture of human powered endeavors through inspiration, education, and experience.
The Adventure Summit is the area’s premier outdoor adventure exposition that will focus attention on Dayton as the Outdoor Adventure Capital of the Midwest. The event is free and open to outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and interest levels, and will serve the adventure market from skill clinics and hands-on trainings from some of the world’s leading experts to showcasing local places to play and locals who have played around the world. The Adventure Summit is committed to providing something for everyone from the armchair adventurer to the hard core enthusiast!
This year, our featured speaker is Jordan Romero! Jordan is the youngest person to summit The Seven Summits, which are the tallest peaks on every continent. By the age of 13, Jordan climbed Mount Everest, and by the age of 15, he completed The Seven Summits with Vison Massif in Antarctica. Currently, Jordan is attempting all 50 US States Summits.
Furthermore, we are excited to announce Susan Conrad as a featured speaker! Susan kayaked The Inside Passage, a coastal route of 1,200 miles around Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska. The Inside Passage is notable as the most scenic and challenging route in North America. We are also looking forward to hosting many other speakers throughout The Adventure Summit!
Register in advance and join a competition! The Adventure Summit hosts an Indoor Triathlon which includes a 15-minute run/walk, a 15-minute bike, and a 15-minute swim. Participants score’s will be based on distance “traveled” during the combined 45 minutes.
Participants come from all over the Midwest to partake in the Bouldering Competition! Test yours skills and win great prizes!
The Adventure Summit also hosts Canoe Battleship! Teams of four competes to sink opposing teams while avoiding getting themselves sunk! Participants are welcome to sign up as teams or as individuals.

There is something for everyone at The Adventure Summit! From kayaking in our pool, climbing on our climbing wall, taking a fitness class, to trying Standup Paddleboard Yoga, or CrossFit, we have it all! Our activities are free so you have the chance to try something new.
Mingle with local, regional and national outdoor-related exhibitors, along with a variety of outdoor clubs, specialty retail shops, outfitters, resorts and more organizations that will help visitors plan for and reach their outdoor adventure goals.
