The University College provides academic advising for undergraduate students who are not admitted into the college of their major, as well as academic support services for the entire student population.
Professional academic advisors offer guidance and support for most direct-from-high school students, as well as many transfer, adult and returning students, in the Academic Advising and Transfer Services office. Advisors help students transition successfully to college and into appropriate majors in one of Wright State’s degree-granting colleges.
The Student Academic Success Center and office of First Year Programs offer a multitude of services for students in University College, as well as those in degree-granting colleges, to assist students in achieving academic success. These services include tutoring, supplemental instruction, developmental and learning strategies courses, and learning communities, as well as assistance in mathematics and writing.
The University College will provide access, guidance, and academic support to first-year, transfer and adult students in a nurturing, diverse, respectful, and supportive environment that assists students in making a successful transition to college and appropriate majors, while developing the foundations for civic engagement and lifelong learning.
The University College is a diverse, nurturing, and progressive learning community of professionals, respectful and supportive of colleagues and students, and dedicated to following best practices in providing exceptional services to students and to the campus community.
