WDTN: Wright State proposes deal to faculty, raise offered

Wright State University and the faculty union have ended their contract negotiations for the day without reaching a confirmed deal.

It is not clear if either side will talk this weekend.

WSU says the administration offered the union a contract that guarantees a five-percent pay raise for union faculty in 2022 and 2023, according to WSU spokesman Seth Bauguss.

That offer is contingent on American Association of University Professors members joining the university's uniform health care plan.

“We are pleased that the administration put something in writing. We are willing to continue negotiations this weekend, but we are ready to walk the picket line on Monday if an agreement has not been reached by then,” AAUP-WSU officials said in a statement.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The offer is for a 2.5 percent raise in each of those years, not a 5 percent raise.
