Retirement

Wright State University employees are required to participate in a university-provided retirement plan. New full time faculty members are given a choice of participation in one of the plans provided by the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio or in the Wright State University Alternative Retirement Plan.

New full time unclassified administrative staff members are given a choice of participation in one of the plans provided by the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System or in the Wright State University Alternative Retirement Plan.New part time faculty members (who have not previously made a retirement plan election) are given a choice of participation in one of the plans provided by the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio. New part time unclassified administrative staff (who have not previously made a retirement plan election) are given a choice of participation in one of the plans provided by the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System. New full time and part time classified staff (who have not previously made a retirement plan election) are given a choice of participation in one of the plans provided by the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.

All faculty and staff members are eligible to participate in voluntary tax-deferred savings plans in addition to one of the university-provided retirement plans.
