LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

Wright State University's Latino, Asian and Native American Center cordially invites you to attend our upcoming Lunar New Year celebration, the “Year of the Dog.”

We are very excited to bring to campus Dayton’s own award-winning Dayton Qipao Troupe.  The entertainment program will begin promptly at 12 noon and the show consists of the following acts:

  • Red Lantern Qipao Dance
  • The Blue and White Porcelain Qipao Dance
  • The Song of Beauty Qipao Dance

Additionally, the celebration offers games, Chinese calligraphy, fortune telling, balloon artist, music, numerous hands-on arts and crafts, along with a souvenir booth with unique items and much more. You can also take pictures in Chinese and Vietnamese traditional costumes in front of The Great Wall and Vietnamese New Year Marketplace backdrops.  At this event, participants will have an opportunity to win a prize if they successfully answer cultural questions relating to Chinese New Year and Vietnamese TET celebrations.

Special Chinese New Year foods are available for purchase from TSAO’s Cuisine.

*Note for first-year Honors students: Fall 2017 first-year Honors students are required to attend one Dialogue during the 2017-2018 academic year to maintain priority registration status. Students not satisfying the Dialogue requirement will lose their priority registration status for one semester (Spring 2019). Look for the BLUE FOLDER to record your attendance on the sign-in sheet.
