Tested looks at the lack of racial diversity at the top public high schools in New York City by following a dozen families from different racial, socio-economic and religious backgrounds as they prepare to pass the grueling entrance exam.

This documentary follows a dozen racially and socioeconomically diverse 8th graders as they fight for a seat at one of these schools.  Their only way in: to ace a single standardized test. Tested includes the voices of such education experts such as Pedro Noguera and Diane Ravitch as it explores such issues as access to a high-quality public education, affirmative action, and the model-minority myth.  Already, the film has been getting a great response from the White House Initiative on African American Education Excellence, the American Educational Research Association and The New York Times

Producer/writer Curtis Chin will be present to facilitate this discussion during the question and answer session.
