Center for Faculty Excellence

Equity Champion Academy

The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) is now accepting applications from interested faculty for 2022-2023 Equity Champions. The Equity Champions will attend the Wright State Equity Academy starting this fall semester and continuing during the spring semester. The Academy is supported by a grant from the Wright State Foundation Fund in collaboration with the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, the Provost, CFE, and the Division of Student Success.

The Academy is designed to educate and empower a cohort of university faculty to address equity gaps through teaching practices, learning outcomes, and curricular reform. Selected faculty will participate with their cohort in a year of equity seminars, professional coaching, and facilitated peer support. You'll work to create and implement DEI pedagogy in your own courses as well as find ways to lead curriculum reform activities with your colleagues and academic units.

Please consider applying and doing the work of creating more inclusive learning environments to better student success. All Equity Champions will receive a $500 stipend at the end of the year—not as direct compensation for your participation in a community of practice that will enhance inclusivity in our curriculum (that work is both priceless and its own reward) but in thanks for helping lead the way.
