Mildred "Millie" Waddell

The first CSIC took place in 1978, therefore we're turning 40 this year! Mildred "Millie" Waddell, one of Wright State's first employees, was the driving force behind the start-up and success of the Campus Scholarship Campaign, now known as Campus Scholarship & Innovation Campaign. The first employee campaign in 1978 raised more than $39,000, which in today’s dollars equals more than $150,000. Through her tact, talent and tenacity, Millie developed a broad base of support from all facets of the university community, resulting in an outstanding rate of participation for the giving campaign.

In recognition of her accomplishments and a tribute to her leadership, the General Campus Scholarship Campaign Awards was later renamed the Campus Scholarship Campaign – Mildred H. Waddell Scholarship.

Thank you, Millie.
