Matthew Helton, Art (Photography)

Matthew Helton is studying for his Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography. He grew up in Fairborn, Ohio and attended Fairborn High School. While at Wright State, Matthew has interned with the university’s Office of Marketing. He also created a food drive with the partnership of Wright State’s Friendship Food Pantry called “Photos for Food.” Matthew was also a recipient of the Yeck College Artist Fellowship with The Dayton Art Institute.

"There is not a great enough way to express my appreciation for the ARTSGALA scholarship. This award was more than just monetary for me. We, as artists, put a great deal of time and effort into our projects and craft. To have this type of support outside of our peers and professors is amazing. It truly helps with the financial burden of higher education but, equally as important, it is an emotional uplift as well. These are just a few reasons why I endlessly thank the donors for your support of ARTSGALA."
