Our Commitment to Accessibility

Alignment with the President’s 3Rs
Accessibility is an essential part of Wright State University’s strategic priorities, aligning with the President’s 3Rs (Recruitment, Retention, and Relationships):
- Recruitment: Creating an inclusive and accessible environment makes Wright State an attractive option for diverse students and faculty.
- Retention: Ensuring accessible physical and digital spaces supports student and employee success, increasing engagement and completion rates.
- Relationships: Strengthening community collaboration through universal access initiatives reinforce partnerships and institutional reputation.
Wright State University’s Digital Accessibility Initiative
Wright State recognizes that accessibility is the responsibility of all campus community members, and this new page reflects this vision. We encourage faculty, staff, students, and administrators to actively engage in making Wright State more inclusive for everyone. Wright State University’s Digital Accessibility Initiative is a collaborative effort made up of various academic units and campus departments, including:
- Office of General Counsel
- Wright State Online
- Faculty Representatives
- Computing and Telecommunications Services (CaTS)
- Office of Disability Services (ODS)
- Audit, Risk, and Compliance
- Wright State University Libraries
Accessibility Subcommittees
To support campus-wide accessibility initiatives, we are forming subcommittees focused on different aspects of accessibility. These subcommittees will work collaboratively to assess needs, provide guidance, and implement solutions.
Proposed Subcommittees:
- Digital Accessibility Subcommittee–Focuses on ensuring compliance with WCAG standards and improving digital resources
- Physical Campus Accessibility Subcommittee–Assesses and enhances campus physical accessibility, including pathways, signage, and emergency preparedness
- Instructional Accessibility Subcommittee–Supports faculty in developing accessible course content and teaching strategies
- Policy and Compliance Subcommittee–Reviews university policies and legal compliance related to accessibility
- Assistive Technology and Innovation Subcommittee–Explores new technologies and tools to enhance accessibility on campus
