INVESTING IN TOMORROW

40th LogoIn 40 short years, Wright State University has become an engine of growth for the Miami Valley--student by student. From every imaginable background, students come to Wright State seeking the new ideas and new means of expression that will improve their lives. Join us, and your generosity will give these students an environment defined by boundless opportunities, innovation, and an inextinguishable spirit. Here are just a few of the ways you can invest in tomorrow:

It's not every day that a student makes a donation to the scholarship fund that financed his education six months before graduation, but Brian Sturdevant did just that. "I want to give back so other students who come after me will be able to succeed as I have," he said.

Wright State's students come from hard-working families who know that college requires financial sacrifices --

44% of WSU undergraduates are first-generation college students and 42% come from families with incomes of below $50,000. 79% of Wright State students receive some kind of financial aid. Our ability to attract the best and brightest students will depend largely on our ability to offer scholarship funds.

Research

In 2005-2006, research funding increased to $64,378,342 for 558 awards, the highest in university history, allowing the university to conduct pioneering research that is responding to the needs of our society and global economy. Among those organizations that Wright State collaborates with in research partnerships are the Department of Defense, the National Institutes of Health, NASA, American Heart Association, the National Science Foundation and many national corporations.

Community Service
Through its research, community outreach programs and cultural contributions, Wright State is developing programs and ideas that help individuals, businesses and institutions continually revitalize life in the Miami Valley, the nation and the world.

Among issues that the university is addressing through its community outreach are: enhancing the cultural life of the region through theater, dance, musical performances, and fine arts exhibits; revolutionizing teaching methods; creating safer schools and more inclusive education; and enhancing environmental quality.
