photo of a studentWe’re glad to have you at Wright State! As a current student, you need to accomplish the “to-dos” listed below each term in order to complete your education at Wright State.

Wright State's Veteran and Military Center (VMC), 131 Allyn, is here to process your educational benefits, maintain eligibility, and troubleshoot payment and other issues. And, the Certifying Official will submit enrollment and tuition information to the VA Regional Processing Office and/or to your student's Vocational Rehabilitation counselor. In addition, the VMC may serve as a central resource regarding other programs and resources available to veterans and military-connected students, both on campus and in the surrounding community.

As a reminder it’s important to:

  • review your classes regularly with your academic advisor,
  • file for Financial Aid each year,
  • get involved in clubs and organizations

“I have never met a more supportive staff and student body in my life."

Take Care of Business

1

Stay informed

Check your Wright State e-mail account often. You will regularly receive e-mails regarding financial aid, registering for classes, applying for graduation, etc. Also, visiting WINGS (Wright Information, News and Group Services) will give you access to university services and student announcements.

2

Register for the next term's classes

All admitted students will be assigned to a specific early registration group based on their student classification, the number of credit hours earned, and in some cases randomization within the largest registration groups to subdivide them. Coordinate your registration period with your appointment with your academic advisor.

Registration for each term is divided into two periods, Early Registration and Open Registration. Each period has different due dates and policies regarding the cancellation of registration due to nonpayment by the due date.

All students are expected to complete the registration process, including schedule changes, by the end of the Open Registration Period when online registration closes. Specific dates for each term are published in the academic calendar.

3

Visit the Veteran and Military Center

Students receiving educational benefits must complete the Veterans Enrollment Report (PDF) each term. If you change your major or your class schedule or completely withdraw after you have submitted this form, you will need to complete the add/drop card to the Wright State Veteran and Military Center.

Call or phone for an appointment: by phone: (937) 775-5550; e-mail: veteransaffairs@wright.edu. We are required to certify your enrollment each term with the VA. Failure to report any schedule or major changes to the VMC, may result in an overpayment, which the VA will require you to repay.

4

Stay on track

Verify that the courses you take each term are right for your academic program through DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) If you have transferred in prior credits, check how they might apply.
