Important Government Shutdown Information
Based on information available here, the following services will likely not be impacted by the shutdown:
- Education Benefit Claims Processing and Payments (Post 9/11 GI Bill, Chapters 30, 1606, 1607 and 35 DEA)
- Vocational Rehabilitation (Chapter 31) Payment Processing
- Compensation and Pension Claimes Processing and Payments
- All VA Medical Centers including Vet Centers will remain open and fully operational
- Insurance and Home Loan Processing
However, the following services will likely be impacted by the shutdown:
- Education Call Center (1-888-442-4551) suspended
- No decisions on claimes appeals or motions will be issued by the Board of Veterans Appeals
- Vocational Rehabilitation and Educational Counseling will be limited
Our office is hopeful that there will be likely no disruption of services to students enrolled and registered for benefits through our office for Fall semester 2013. We will post updates as they become available.
