New Programs/Program Changes:
Mark Sirkin sought committee input on a proposal for a BA in Liberal Studies which might be an alternative degree for University College students who have not chosen/been accepted into a major. The committee would not act on this proposal unless it comes through the channels of the College of Liberal Arts curriculum and faculty committees.
Old Business: None

WAC Report: Joe Law reported that the request to allow students from a Biology course at Sinclair to transfer in the WAC credit was denied because the committee felt that it would establish a precedent to accept WAC credit from other universities and there would not be control over the writing content of these courses. Beth Basista expressed her concern because she had been working with the Sinclair faculty to assure that the WSU WAC guidelines were followed in the development of this Sinclair biology course. She and Joe Law agreed to discuss it further and Joe will report on this issue at the next meeting.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be Monday, May 15, 2000 from 3:00 - 4:30 in 158 UH.
