Academic Policies

The committee reviewed the following Fresh Start Semester Policy and requested several changes be incorporated and brought before the committee at its next meeting.

Other Academic Matters

The committee discussed the academic policies associated with the following issues:
1. There seemed to be no problem with the Registrar adding the following section specific clarifications at the course scheduling window: Section Specific Clarifications
2. As with each previous year, the committee expressed much desire in having the Registrar implement the enforcement of course prerequisites for student registration in courses. It was expressed that the absence of enforcement creates student advising problems, course enrollment problems in locking prerequisite accomplished students out of needed classes, and puts the burden of prerequisite policing and enforcement unduly upon faculty teaching courses and/or department administration of courses. If it cannot be programed for the Fall 2012, then it should follow thereafter.
