Returned Modifications: the committee returned to COLA for reconsideration the Sociology course renumbering system indicated below. The COLA representatives on UCAPC will work with the college to bring the issues raised in committee to the department for consideration. Some, but not all, of the issues raised focused on the university wide impact of the proposed changes on degree programs and the implied need of programs across campus to modify their programs and submit such for Senate consideration in response to the Sociology changes. That, may be a major undertaking that needs much preparation. Other issues arose regarding the possible "Banner" driving force behind the change from "SOC" to "Sc" and then the absence of changing other SOC courses (e.g., SOC 200 and SOC 201) to the Sc designation. These issues also mandated that the committee return to the college the B.A. Sociology program change (see below Program Changes).
