Constructed in December, 1990, Wright State University's Ervin J. Nutter Center is a premier entertainment facility. Named after Ervin J. Nutter, a local businessman, engineer, inventor and philanthropist, Wright State's Nutter Center can comfortably accommodate as many as 12,000 people for concerts, basketball games, ice shows, monster truck races and circuses. Included in the 260,000 square foot arena are 18 luxury suites around the concourse level, four additional basketball/volleyball courts, a recreational running track, a fully-equipped weight room, a multipurpose room, dressing rooms, and classrooms.
Wright State University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams and women’s volleyball teams have called Wright State's Nutter Center home since its doors opened. The Nutter Center has also played host to many other sports teams including the Dayton Bombers and area high school teams for tournament games.
Since its first Wright State University Commencement in 1990, Wright State's Nutter Center is where all WSU students graduate. From your first introduction at Freshman Convocation to the final Pomp and Circumstance, the arena welcomes you and your family and friends. High schools in the area also use Wright State's Nutter Center for graduation because of its size and central location. Some of the high schools that have used Wright State's Nutter Center are Beavercreek, Centerville, Fairborn, Fairmont, Wayne, Springboro, Northmont, Miamisburg, and Franklin.
The Berry Room
Housed within the Nutter Center is conference/meeting space known as the Berry Room. Our event coordinator can subdivide the 5,280 square foot room into one, two, or three rooms with recessed,
movable walls to match your event size. Groups of up to 400 people can be accommodated for
theatre-style presentations. Banquets or receptions can accommodate up to 250 people. Additional breakout rooms and the concourse overlooking the arena are also available by reservation.
McLin Gymnasium
Located inside Gate 9 of Wright State's Nutter Center, McLin Gymnasium offers practice facilities
for many of Wright State University's athletics and intermural teams and can also be reserved for other events. It can accommodate receptions, banquets, conferences, and dinners for 300 to 1,500 people.
