Priority Registration & Retention
Priority Registration
Students who are admitted to the University Honors Program and who have met with an Honors staff member (either individually or in a group setting) are eligible for priority registration. This means that these Honors students will register at the beginning of the registration process. This gives them maximum flexibility in planning their schedules.
Retention
To be eligible for continued participation in the Honors Program, students must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA and actively work toward earning an Honors degree designation. Students will be considered academically ineligible when:
- a student's cum GPA is below 3.0 for two consecutive terms or
- a student's cum GPA is below 2.7 for one term.
Students who fall below these minimal levels of participation will receive written notice of their Honors status.
Consult the Honors Student Handbook for additional details on the Honors Program's Retention Policy.
