Led by Jeff Hiles, Instructional Designer, CTL.  Learn to create Word documents and to remediate existing Word documents so more students can understand and navigate your content, including students with disabilities. Emphasis will be on what’s most important for ensuring that digital course content is accessible, including headings, links, images, tables, and colors.  Workshop participants will be asked to watch a few short videos before the workshop. That way we’ll have more time to roll up our sleeves and practice.  This is the first in a three-part series of workshops aimed at helping faculty and staff create more inclusive documents. Although this is not a prerequisite for subsequent workshops in the series, parts two and three do reinforce what you learn in this workshop.  The Accessibility Ally series is based on WCAG 2.0 AA, an international standard for helping make digital content accessible to the widest audience, including people with disabilities. WCAG 2.0 AA has been embraced in rulings and settlements by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights.
