“Farewell”
PG ‧ 2019 ‧ Drama/Comedy-drama ‧ 1h 40m

Aspiring Chinese-American writer Billi (Awkwafina) and her family return to China when the beloved grandmother (Zhao Shu-zhen) is diagnosed with terminal cancer. The family decides not to tell the grandmother of the diagnosis believing no good could come of disclosing the cancer or prognosis so they stage an impromptu wedding to see grandma one last time. Billi is caught between the responsibilities of caring for her grandmother and the cultural differences in Chinese and American morals she stands between.  Director, Lulu Wang, drew on her own experiences to write and direct the film.
