New Europay Charge Card Terminals will be Installed in July to Meet Oct. 1, 2015 Deadline
Effective October 1, 2015, Wright State University Departments accepting charge card transactions in person will be required to accept the new EMV (Europay MasterCard Visa) charge cards. EMV cards have a “chip” embedded on the front which requires the card to be inserted by the customer in the new terminals until the transaction is completed. Under the new guidelines, the customer retains possession of the card and the card remains inserted in the terminal until the terminal prompts the customer to remove the card.
To meet this requirement, new VeriFone VX 520 Terminals and VeriFone VX 820 Pin Pads (where applicable) will be installed during the month of July to replace the obsolete equipment. Please click on the link below to view a short video demonstrating how the new terminals function. After you click the first link, scroll down the page to select the VeriFone VX 520 terminal.
