Proposed Changes to the Faculty Constitution

Update: The University Faculty has approved the changes to the Faculty Constitution. (Click here to view final voting results.)

• Changes to the structure of the Undergraduate Curriculum and Academic Policies Committee that are intended to simultaneously make the committee more agile and better able to consider and review important policies; and
• Changing Faculty President terms to two years (rather than one) with a two consecutive term limit (rather than none) and including a Faculty Vice President with real responsibilities rather than a Faculty President-elect.

2012-2013 Approved Senate Resolutions

• Resolution to name the new classroom building Katharine Wright Hall and to rename the Medical Sciences Building to Orville Wright Hall and the Math and Microbiological Sciences Building to Wilbur Wright Hall.


• Faculty Work Load Resolution (pdf)


• Parking Resolution
• Resolution that Wright State University not commit to any construction plans which permanently result in the loss of parking spaces until faculty have evaluated those plans and the resulting impact on parking and if a permanent loss of parking is deemed necessary have meaningful input on how the impact should be mitigated.
• And therefore be it also resolved that:
  Wright State University construct a parking lot between the existing lots 16 and 17.


• Update: The Provost has verbally committed to following through on the resolution.


• Three Year Plan For Service Learning and Research Opportunities Resolutions (pdf)


• Ad hoc Committee on Student Recruitment Resolutions (pdf )
• Approved with the following Amendment:
  
  Enrollment Advisory Committee: Establish a standing committee to partner with the Vice President for Enrollment Management in fulfilling University enrollment goals (as determined in consultation with the deans of each college working with their chairs and/or program directors). At least one faculty member and one student from each college should be represented on this committee.
