Cadets headed over to the Rappelling Tower to coduct rappelling training. For some this would be the first time they've ever rappelled, others are veterans of the tower. During the summer months, cadets will attend the Leadership Development Assessment Course. There cadets will be tested on all of the knowledge they have gained throughout their time in ROTC. Skills tested include Land navigation and the ability to lead a squad and section in a mock mission. LDAC is held on Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Seattle, Washington.
This past Saturday, the Raider Battalion seniors went on a trip to Fort Recovery in Ohio to learn about the Battle of Wabash from historian and author of Wabash 1791: St Clair's defeat, John F. Winkler. Cadets analyzed tactical decisions made by both armies. They also visited the museum which containied many recovered items such as arrow heads, rifles and bayonets, pieces of uniforms and documents. Pictured is the cover of his book.


The Ranger Company is a co-curricular campus student organization dedicated to the development of individual leadership abilities through the application of the principles of leadership. Ranger Company available for cadets that want to further their knowledge on topics discussed in the battalion with an emphasis on practical exercises. We strive to exceed the standard both in ROTC and our everyday lives. The members of Ranger Company gain comradery and form bonds that will aide them during field training exercises.

The Ranger Challenge Team is fed from Ranger Company and trains in the fall for the annual Brigade Ranger Challenge Competition held at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The competition events include a forced 10 kilometer road march, weapons assembly, rifle marksmanship, land navigation, hand grenade assault course, and the Army physical fitness test. The team stresses physical readiness and camaraderie.

The Raider Battalion's Color guard is charged with the task of presenting the colors at Wright State basketball games and other special events. As one of the most visible components of the Raider Battalion, the guard is required to maintain an exceptional level of appearance and conduct when in front of people.
