The Student Retention Team is responsible for managing Wright State University’s early alert system, where faculty indicate the students who are potentially at risk throughout the semester. This early intervention allows the team to optimize resources across campus and provide the right interventions to support students through Wright State's coordinated care network in Student Affairs, Equity and Inclusion, and Student Success.
All students are assigned to one Success Coach based on the alphabet and the first letter of their last name.
|Last Name Begins With||Success Coach|
Success Coaches reach out to students throughout the semester to encourage success in the classroom, provide holistic support, and connect students to appropriate resources across the campus and community.
Reach out to your Success Coach if you:
- Need additional support navigating academic and financial policies.
- Are facing external challenges that may be impacting your academic performance.
- Need extra assistance in connecting with campus resources.
Our success coaches have years of experience in international education, college admissions, advising, financial aid, student affairs, and veteran and military services, as well as degrees in gender and sexuality issues, counseling, divinity, management, educational policy and leadership, and student affairs in higher education. No matter your challenges, we'll help you put together an action plan to support your continued success at Wright State.
The student retention team serves students by identifying barriers to success, teaching students to navigate college life, and developing strategies that empower students to achieve their educational goals at Wright State University.
The student retention team will play a vital role in increasing course completion, semester-to-semester persistence, and year-to-year retention at Wright State University.
