2013–2014 Group Projects
On Friday, January 17, 2014, We Serve U will be hosting a supply drive to help replenish the Crayons to Classrooms store
Dayton Crayons to Classrooms (DC2C) is a free store for teachers from under-funded K-12 schools that serve children living in poverty in Ohio’s Miami Valley. In partnership with local businesses, individual donors, and community volunteers, DC2C lifts at-risk children’s level and love of learning by collecting and distributing donated supplies and surplus products for use in the classroom. Teachers from eligible schools are invited to “shop” for what they need in our retail-style free store in the Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley building in Dayton, Ohio. Educators in the Dayton area spend up to $1,000 a year of their already limited salaries to provide the necessary supplies for their students and classrooms. Please help us replenish their store on January 17th at the Faculty/Staff Basketball game. Bring your donations to the pre-game reception in the McLin Gym.
Most requested items:
- Glue sticks
- Notebook paper
- Construction paper
On Friday,February 21, 2014, We Serve U will be having a raffle during the Raider Men's Basketball game to Benefit 4 Paws for Ability. This organization is committed to enriching the lieves of children with disabilities by training and placing quality, task-trained service dogs.
Never doubt that a small group of commited people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
The Wright State University Friendship Food Pantry is looking for volunteers to assist in the pantry. Faculty and Staff can support our students by contributing just a few hours per month as a food pantry volunteer! Contact Felix Torres @ extension 2495 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org and find out what you can do to futher the cause!!
Box top for Education Collection
Many of us throw away the Box Tops for Education labels that are on products we use daily. Saville Elementary is a Riverside school that WSU students currently work with. Saville has an Excellent education rating, but also has a high population of needy students. Collecting and donating the Box Tops for Education allows the school to shop for needed supplies and is an easy way we can help. If you are willing to donate your Box Tops for Education to Saville Elementary, please send them to Joanie Hendricks at 216 Medical Sciences.
Thanks to your generosity -- we have donated over 6,600 Box Tops for Education
Thank you to our generous Cards 4 Kids Artists and Crafters!!
Over 250 cards were donated to Children's Medical Center (December 2012)
