Background

Rick joined the staff in September 2004. He has worked at Kent State University, Hiram College, Ohio University and The University of Akron and has held positions in student activities, student unions, and student affairs administration since 1986. He received a Bachelor's of Science in Industrial Management from The University of Akron, a Master's of Education in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel from Kent State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from Ohio University. Rick is responsible for the overall leadership of the department. He also serves as adjunct faculty for Organizational Leadership in the College of Education. "I enjoy working with WSU students and helping them grow with their leadership responsibilities and personal development. I look forward to my work every day! I find it energizing to work with students, faculty and staff in this collaborative and creative environment."

Background

Gina Keucher joined the Student Activities staff in 2007, working as a graduate assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life, and in 2009 became the Assistant Director of Student Activities for Fraternity & Sorority Life and Leadership.  A graduate of WSU, and an active alumnae member of Sigma Kappa Sorority (Epsilon Eta, Findlay College), Gina served six years as advisory board chair to the Sigma Kappa chapter at the University of Dayton; served two years as a National Collegiate Province Officer. After working closely with college students as an advisor, Gina returned to WSU and received a Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education in June 2009.

Background

Debbie joined the staff in July 2012. She is a northern New Jersey native but has lived most of her adult life in Ohio. She attended Otterbein University where she was an English secondary education major and was extremely involved with student activities, Greek life, and governance. This involvement led her to Bowling Green State University where she earned a master’s degree in college student personnel and another in counseling. “I enjoy empowering students to attain their goals. I enjoy exploring all that Wright State University has to offer as well as the surrounding community.”

Background

Jack joined the Student Activities staff in July 2012. He works with student organization leaders in developing their programs and advising the University Activities Board (UAB). Jack is from the Dayton Area and is proud to be called a Buckeye. Jack has his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University, where he was heavily involved with the Programming Board and Campus wide Philanthropy, Dance Marathon. He has his Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel from the University of Dayton in 2009. Jack came from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where he worked with the Fraternities and Sororities, as well as the University Service Learning organization. “I am really excited to come to Wright State and Student Activities. The office and University has great energy and will just be FUN to work in. This is the hometown school for me and I enjoy working with “Rowdy Raiders” here at Wright State.”

Liz Beemer

Elizabeth is an alum who joined the staff in March 2014. Prior to her arrival here, Elizabeth assessed and trained others as a corporate facilitator. She has worked with schools, nonprofits and fortune 500 companies to develop and strengthen individual and community focused leadership competencies and capacity.  Elizabeth is a native of Michigan and believes everyone bleeds blue! Elizabeth has her Master of Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education, from Wright State. Serving as the Assistant Director focused on supporting student leader development is a perfect fit! "Helping others to Learn, Engage, Achieve and Develop, allows me to be a coach and cheerleader while growing relationships.”  

Lenny Gonzalez

Background

Lenny joined the staff in Spring 1999. He has held positions in the Physical Plant and Payroll Departments before joining the Office of Student Activities. He received a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Wright State University and an Associate of Arts in Pre-Professional Business from Lorain County Community College. Lenny is responsible for maintaining the accounts for the department as well as the student organizations including The Guardian, WWSU Radio Station, Rainbow Alliance, University Activities Board, Greek Life, and all the student clubs on campus. "Having been a student and employee since 1991 on the Wright State campus has been a rewarding experience. I feel extremely fortunate to work in an environment surrounded by remarkable staff members and phenomenal students. Without question, when I began working in The Office of Student Activities- I hit the Lottery!"

Jeff Klemm

Background

Jeff joined the Student Activities staff in May 2013 as the Graduate Assistant for Leadership Development. He grew up in Parma, OH, which is a suburb of Cleveland. Jeff graduated from Ohio University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration and was heavily involved with the music program, including being a member of the Ohio University Marching 110. After graduation, Jeff accepted a job with the Cleveland Browns and spent two seasons with the team. He is now working towards his Master’s Degree in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program. “I am very excited to be back in the university atmosphere working with students once again. The Office of Student Activities offers so much to help students succeed, and I look forward to being a part of that.”

Background

Nick joined the Student Activities staff in May 2013 as the Graduate Assistant for Campus Programs. He was raised in Logan, Ohio and graduated from Logan High School in 2003 where he was deeply involved in the school newspaper, "The Chieftain," and spent most of his time working in the newsroom. Nick graduated from Ohio University in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and spent the next year as a reporter for Suburban News Publications in Columbus, Ohio. After working outside of academia for a brief period, Nick decided to pursue a Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education. “I'm very excited to be involved with the Office of Student Activities at Wright State University. Working with students has always been a passion of mine and I’m glad to once again have the opportunity.”

Jeremy joined the Student Activities staff in May of 2014 as the Fraternity and Sorority Life Graduate Assistant. With this role, he will be helping Wright State’s Fraternity and Sorority community to develop programs, plan events, and assisting in advising the four councils that comprise Greek Life on campus. He is from Dayton, Ohio and attended Wright State University for his undergraduate years, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education in 2014. Jeremy was very involved in the WSU community, being a member of various organizations, which lead him to pursue his Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education here at Wright State. “I am very excited to be working with the Office of Student Activities and with the Fraternity and Sorority community here at WSU. I hope to have a helping hand in continuing the success of WSU’s students and organizations.”

Josh Scacco

Josh joined the Student Activities staff in May 2014 as the Graduate Assistant for GLBTQA Programs and Initiatives. He grew up in Blodgett, OR, a slice of country about 30 miles from the Pacific. Josh graduated from Oregon State University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Science, with an option in Pre-Pharmacy and was heavily involved with supporting students with under-represented identities and facilitating dialog on race, class, gender and sexuality. After graduation, Josh has supported students at Oregon State University and Antioch College through a variety of positions. He is now working towards his Master’s Degree in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program. “I am excited to join the Student Activities team and assist in their mission of creating events, organizations, and even Wright State University, more inclusive to all students”.
