Come celebrate and kick off Homecoming Week. We ill have Food, fun and WSU Spirit! We will be announcing the 2014 Homecoming Royalty Court and opeing up the poll for Students to vote on the next WSU Homecoming Royalty.

Student Organnizations and Residential Communities can "Chalk the Quad" and leave their mark on campus for Homecoming.  Students MUST sign up to particiapte in this event via OrgSync by Septermber 25th.

Chalk the Quad is the Raider Homecoming competition in which organizations and resident communities will show their creativity and WSU Raider Pride with their best Homecoming designs. Each organization and/or resident community will be designated a chalking space on the Quad and their chalking will be displayed for the duration of Homecoming Week (pending weather).

Rules and Regulations:

  • Design must be WSU and Homecoming related
  • You must stay within your designated area
  • Include your Organization name within your design
  • DO NOT USE vulgar, offensive or inappropriate words or images. Designs should be respectful and inclusive to all organizations and students. 
  • Chalking should be registered with the Office of Student Activities (Part of this form)
  • Must sign up by September 23rd by 5pm.
  • Organizations and Resident Communities have until Monday September 29th by 4 pm to complete their chalking. 

Judging:

  • Judging will take place at 8pm Monday September 29th. The winner will be announced at the Cardboat Boat Race on Thursday October 2nd. 
  • If your organization fails to meet any due dates or guidelines, your organization or resident communities will be exempt from the judging.

**1st place receives 100 points towards Homecoming Spirit Competition, 2nd place receives 50 points, 3rd place receives 25 points.** 

Supplies:

  • Organizations may only use supplies provide by the Office of Student Activities. The Office of Student Activities will provide you chalk beginning Thursday September 25th from 8:30am-5pm in 019 Student Union.
  • Only provided chalk may be utilized. Failure to do so will result in the organization paying for the necessary cleaning.

6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Homecoming Cardboard Boat Race and Pool Party

Prepare your team for the race of the century!! Come to the Atrium at 6pm and use an hour to create a boat-- made of cardboard, ducttape, and whatever other suprises we will supply for you! Then, the race is on. Carry your boat to the pool and out-stroke the other teams to win! Stick around after, there will be a big Pool Party to swim and have some fun!

A celebration of the opening of the Brandeberry Career Development Center with CECS alumni and Industry friends. Drop off your business card in exchange for a free beverage at the bar. Enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres and a tour of the facility. Additionally, tours will be offered for Russ, Joshi and the rest of campus given by the Student Amassadors on October, 10th from 3-6.

RUN [nearly] NAKED THROUGH CAMPUS! Come donate clothes you're wearing or bring a bag full of clothes to donate to Goodwill! Registration will begin at 10:00 am where we will have a DJ and games to keep your energy up until the run. At 11:00 the run will start and Student Alumni Association will be providing food and passing out the t-shirts.

Register by September 19th to be guaranteed a t-shirt and the size that you want!
Cost is $10 pre-registration and day of registration. If you have a coupon code from our magnets, use that to get $3 off.

This event gives students and alumni the chance to take clothes off their backs and give them to those in need by running around campus "nearly naked" for a worthy cause. The Nearly Naked Mile event collects clothing for the Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley. Donations of shirts, pants, shorts, shoes, etc. are greatly appreciated. Registration begins at 10:00 am where games, contests, and a raflle will be held prior to the run at 11:00 am. Following the run, a shirts will be given out and food will be provided. Stick around for the Homecoming Festival at the Rinzler immediately after!

Enjoy a variety of activites that the whole family can enjoy! Play plinko for Wright State gear, try your skills through the AROTC maze, shoot some hoops with Pop-a-Shot, hit the alumni beer tent and visit with current Wright State students while your children have fun on inflatable games. Be sure to prepare for the club football game, the mens' and womens' soccer games with face painting and DIY Raider spirit tie-dyed shirts! Last but not least, grab some chili from the Annual Chili Cook Off for dinner!
