(NRC 10 CFR 20) The Nuclear Regulatory Commission requires that all personnel or students that work with or around radiation or radioactive materials receive radiation safety training.
Radiation Safety Initial: Safe Use of Radioactive Materials training should be taken as an initial training for anyone who will be an authorized user, or individual user of radiation materials.
Radiation Safety Initial: Safe Use of Radiation-Producing Devices training must be taken as an initial training for anyone who will be operating radiation-producing devices (radiographic, diffractometers, cabinet irradiators, et cetera).
Radiation Safety Refresher for Radioactive Materials Users training should be taken annually by all "Authorized Users" (AU) of radiation materials. If you will also be using radiation-producing devices, you must take the appropriate online training for that topic, seen below. The AU shall ensure that subordinate users have the proper training to safely perform each assigned task.
Radiation Safety Refresher for Radiation-Producing Devices Users training, should be taken annually by anyone who uses any radiation producing equipment. RPDs, (also known as radiation generating equipment) consist of a wide variety of devices such as diagnostic, veterinary, and analytical x-ray units, as well as particle accelerators, that are used for specific purposes in research and/or patient care. If you are a RPD user, please take the appropriate online training listed below. NOTE: You must also take the Radiation Safety Refresher for Radioactive Material Users training, required of all authorized users.
