RANGER COMPANY

The Ranger Company is a co-curricular campus student organization dedicated to the development of individual leadership abilities through the application of the principles of leadership.  It further develops military skills through the planning and conduct of dismounted Infantry patrolling operations at squad and platoon levels.  A full schedule of training exercises, mountaineering, survival, escape and evasion, and land navigation may be incorporated into training.  Air Assault operations may also be included.  If you are interested contact CDT Webb or CDT George.

RANGER CHALLENGE TEAM

The Ranger Challenge Team is fed from Ranger Company and trains intensely from May through Mid-October for the annual Brigade Ranger Challenge Competition held at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The competition events include a forced 10 kilometer road march, weapons assembly, rifle marksmanship, land navigation, hand grenade assault course, and the Army physical fitness test. The team stresses physical readiness and camaraderie. Tryouts will be held this May. For more information, contact        CDT Wike or CDT Timmerman.

COLOR GUARD

The Raider Battalion's Color guard is charged with the task of presenting the colors at Wright State basketball games and other special events. Their season runs from October through the spring. As one of the most visible components of the Raider Battalion, the guard is required to maintain an exceptional level of appearance and conduct when in front of people. Despite the added responsibility, those on the color guard all agree that the experience is well worth it and can be very enjoyable as well. For more information, contact CDT George.

RIFLE TEAM

The Rifle Team competes once a year near the end of winter quarter and is composed of cadets selected for their shooting abilities. The team trains during April on both the M16A2 and the .22 caliber rifle.  For more information, contact CDT George.
