Ebola Information

SHS is closely monitoring Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) information on the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa and the reported case in Texas, and is following the recommendations from the CDC, World Health Organization, and the American College of Health Association.

The risk of exposure to Ebola in the United States or at Wright State is very low.

"There is very little risk of Ebola exposure in the United States," said Leatha Ross, director of student health services at Wright State.  "At the campus level, we feel it's best to monitor the situation and be prepared, but we do not feel there's any reason for the Wright State community to be alarmed."

At this time, the CDC has recommended no additional monitoring, but does recommend postponing unnecessary education-related travel.  Wright State officials will continue to monitor the latest information from the CDC and take action when necessary.
