Person at Front DeskThe General Practice Clinic provides psychological services to individuals, couples, and families. The Clinic is a training and research center operated by Wright State University's School of Professional Psychology (SOPP), and is staffed by pre-doctoral clinical psychology students and interns, and post-doctoral fellows under the supervision of SOPP faculty who are licensed psychologists. The Clinic is one of several psychology specialty programs addressing the needs of youth, adults, and families that comprise the Duke E. Ellis Human Development Institute.

Services Available

The General Practice Clinic provides services that address a variety of psychological problems and/or concerns such as anxiety, depression, anger, and hostility; stress, phobias, and panic attacks; interpersonal relationship difficulties, marital and/or family conflict; academic performance; emotional, physical, and sexual abuse; and identity issues. This, however, is not an all-inclusive listing of the concerns of persons who request and receive services at the General Practice Clinic.

A wide range of services for adults and children is available at the General Practice Clinic, including, but not limited to:

Psychotherapy
Individual, couples, marital,family, and group

Psychological Evaluation
Intellectual, educational, or developmental testing;cognitive, personality, and psychosocial assessment

Skills Training
Stress management, assertiveness training, and parenting skills training

Consulting SessionConsultation
Individual, school, community, and organizational

Service providers at the General Practice Clinic, in accordance with the ethical and professional standards of the American Psychological Association, keep individuals who are receiving services informed about the procedures to be used and the duration of the evaluation and intervention processes.

Information about the individuals receiving services at the General Practice Clinic is kept strictly confidential.

Fees
The costs of services of the General Practice Clinic are based on a sliding scale, and are determined by annual income and size of household. The Clinic does not accept third-party insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, or credit card payments. However, some insurance companies will reimburse their policy holders for services received at the General Practice Clinic.

Monday through Thursday - 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Friday - 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

9 N. Edwin C. Moses Boulevard (Corner of Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and West Third Street, north of the Third Street Bridge. Exit 53 on I-75. We are also on the RTA bus line.)
