Cheryl Shaw has been a Registered Nurse for 27 years, and 26 of those years have been spent at Greene Memorial Hospital. She is currently a charge nurse in the Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit. During her tenure with Greene, Cheryl has provided her patients with both exceptional clinical care and experience. Committed to growing professionally, Cheryl has taken opportunities to work on different units, where she is always recognized as a leader and teacher. A co-worker writes that Cheryl serves on the unit practice council and actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve patient comfort and raise the standard for service excellence. In her role as charge nurse, Cheryl is recognized by her co-workers for her willingness to help and share information. As a mentor, she strives to support and develop her co-workers; she also serves as a preceptor for new nursing staff and students. Her mentorship has prepared a new generation of nurses to continue the tradition of excellence that she helped to establish. Cheryl earned her diploma in nursing from Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing. She holds certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and in the Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum.
