Cameos of Caring

Fidelity Health Care—Kimberly Butana

Recognition Year:
2014

Kimberly Butana has been a Registered Nurse for eight years and has worked at Fidelity Health Care as the Wound/Ostomy Clinical Coordinator for two years. She provides education to new ostomy patients, caregivers, and physicians. She is also a direct caregiver and visits patients in their homes as they begin the process of learning
to manage their ostomies. Kim loves to share her knowledge and uses positive reinforcement to encourage patients not to give up when faced with difficult tasks. Clinicians, patients, and families feel comfortable enough to ask questions in a relaxed learning environment. In 2013, she was named Educator of the Year by the Mideast Region of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses Society. Kim received her associate degree and BSN from Miami University. She plans to graduate from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Indiana Wesleyan University in February 2015. She is certified as a Wound and Ostomy Nurse.
