Lists

To create a list for a Web page,

1. type your list items each on a separate line,
2. drag your cursor to select all the items,
3. then click on one of the list buttons on the tool bar (or property inspector in Dreamweaver).

You can change the numbering scheme to letters, Roman numerals, etc. For bulleted text, though, stick with plain black dots.

When you make a list using a list button on the toolbar, you add hidden tags to your Web page that screen reader software will recognize as a list. Then the software can do things like announce that it has encountered a list, tell how many items are in the list, and change pitch to give a sense of where it is as it reads down the list.
