Fees and Tuition

Paying Fees

Procedures for paying fees depend on which registration period is used. Students will find fee payment deadlines for each registration period by visiting the Office of the Bursar website at http://www.wright.edu/bursar.

Students are encouraged to pay fees through WINGS Express via WINGS at http://wings.wright.edu. In WINGS Express students may view their fee statement, view current account activity, make online payments, enroll in direct deposit, and add authorized users. Students are encouraged to set up direct deposit for refunds and to add parents as authorized users so they may access Bursar account information and make payments.

Paper bills are no longer mailed to students. Fee statements are generated at the end of each month and posted electronically by the 5th of the following month. Electronic notifications are sent to students’ campus email address and to authorized users reminding them whenever a new statement is available for viewing. Students may access their online fee statement by logging on to WINGS Express via WINGS at http://wings.wright.edu.

Cancellation for non-payment

Only one backout will occur each quarter. Students who have registered during the Early Registration Period will receive a notice sent to their WSU e-mail account when their monthly electronic billing statement is available for viewing through WINGS Express. Those who have not paid their fees by the published due date for early registrations will have their schedules cancelled.

For students who register during the Open Registration period no backout will occur. These students are responsible for either paying their fees by the later deadline or for taking action to officially withdraw from their classes preferably before the term begins, but no later than the seventh calendar day of the term or day two of a short term. Please note: some lab and special fees are not refundable after the term begins.

Late registration fee

A $250 late registration/add fee will be assessed beginning the 16th calendar day of a term. The late fee will be prorated for shorter terms. See the calendar for deadline dates.

NOTE: Students may register for flexibly scheduled classes/workshops anytime prior to the start of the class/workshop without a late registration/add fee or instructor permission unless the class is closed.

Students who register or add classes after the 16th day of the term due to extenuating circumstances may submit a refund petition requesting that the late charges be removed under one of the following conditions:

  • Documented university error
  • Extraordinary extenuating circumstances documented by the student, which prevented registration by the 16th calendar day of a term
The Refund Petition is available on our website under FORMS or in the Registrar's Office located in E244 Student Union. The late registration/add fee petitions committee meets monthly.

Student Installment Payment Plan

The Student Installment Payment Plan (SIPP) is a way to spread your quarterly fees, including tuition, insurance, university housing, and other fees over three installments. Books, personal expenses and non-university housing are not included. A non-refundable application fee of $30 is assessed each quarter for students using the plan and is paid with the first installment.

Installment payments can be made online through WINGS Express via WINGS with free e-check or with credit card (MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) which will include a 2.75% convenience fee. Check and money order payments can also be mailed or paid in person to the Office of the Bursar. Learn more about payment options accepted by the Office of the Bursar.

Students are encouraged to sign up for the Student Installment Payment Plan online via WINGS Express. A tutorial is available through the WINGS Resource Center, http://www.wright.edu/wrc which demonstrates how to enroll in the plan. Once you are at the WINGS Resource Center click the "Student" link on the left side of the page and scroll down to the "How do I…" section to view the tutorial.

Students can also enroll by completing the SIPP Application/Promissory Note (PDF) and returning the completed form along with the initial payment and application fee to the Office of the Bursar. Students must be current with their student account fees before they are eligible to enroll in the plan. All students interested in this option should pay close attention to the installment due dates listed on the installment payment plan contract.

Penalties for late payments include, but are not limited to, late fees for each payment and/or a "hold" being placed on your student account which will prevent registration changes and transcript availability.
