Cameos of Caring

Springfield Regional Medical Center—Ann Garrity

Recognition Year:
2014

Ann Garrity has been a Registered Nurse for 34 years and has worked at Springfield Regional Medical Center for all those years. For over 30 years, Ann has worked in the Special Care Nursery, where her soft-spoken, gentle manner comforts anxious parents who are concerned for their baby’s well-being. In crisis or stressful situations, Ann never raises her voice. She can anticipate both the baby’s and physician’s needs at a delivery or, in the event of an emergency, in the Special Care Nursery. Her work ethic and organizational skills enable her to handle any workload with ease. She has been a great comfort to parents who have suffered a loss. Ann is considered “a kind, compassionate, and thoughtful individual who truly cares about others more than herself.” She holds certification in Low-Risk Neonatal Nursing and in the S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar and safe care, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, Emotional support) program. Ann received her Diploma in Nursing from Community Hospital School of Nursing.
