Cameos of Caring

Megan Holfinger - Grandview Medical Center

Grandview Medical Center
Recognition Year:

Megan Holfinger remains calm in critical situations and can prioritize care with efficiency and expertise, but is also known for her kind and compassionate heart. Transitioning into the charge nurse role in the last year, she is described by her co-workers as an incredible leader in the department. She is humble and often shares the kudos of a job well done with her team. She has been a comfort to patients and families experiencing a crisis or critical situation. Megan is an exceptional communicator with physicians, staff, patients, and families. She has also functioned as a preceptor for our new nurses. She provides them a safe environment to learn and is an incredible educator, explaining processes and procedures while focusing on quality and safety. In addition to serving as a mentor for her co-workers, she is considered an expert resource as well. Often leading by example, Megan motivates others with her positive efforts at the bedside and with her team mentality. Megan has a passion for emergency preparedness and has taken an active role in helping the ER and the whole hospital prepare for potential disasters. Megan is also active in her community. She volunteers as a paramedic with Tipp City EMS and teaches Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) classes.
