Cameos of Caring

Kris Knight - Kettering Health Network, Kettering Medical Center

Recognition Year:
2020

Kris began her career 39 years ago, graduating from Dayton School of Practical Nursing as an L.P.N. She continued on to get her R.N. from Kettering College of Medical Arts in 1986. Kris did not stop there; she received her B.S.N. from Ohio University in 2012. Kris came to Kettering from St. Elizabeth’s in 2000 when that hospital closed. Kettering was fortunate to have such a great nurse join 2 South as part of the ortho team. Kris has mentored, oriented, and has been a preceptor for many new employees and students. Due to her skill and compassion for nursing, she has been a role model for everyone she has touched. Many of her peer nurses have said they want to be just like her! It is no surprise that Kris won the Cameo of Caring award for her unit because she is a true example of someone who selflessly gives her patients and co-workers her all and truly cares deeply for everyone. Kris is married and has three beautiful daughters and three grandsons who are her pride and joy. Her youngest daughter is in school for nursing, so her legacy will continue!
